Botanical Printing Workshop

Using creativity and a little alchemy, learn how to transfer plants and colour from leaves and flowers to cloth. Using patterning from plants and leaves, we will create a lovely Silk Habotai kerchief.

While waiting for our kerchief to steam, we will create more leaf and flower impressions on paper, ready to process.

You will have a lovely, botanically printed scarf and several images on paper for cards or framed art prints to take home.

All materials will be provided. Wear old clothing or an apron.

Monday June 22
12:30 – 3:30 PM

About Carrole Blakeman:

Carrole creates beautifully handcrafted indigo-dyed scarves and shawls, featured in shows across Ontario including the Coldwater Studio Tour, Wearable Art Show, Arts on the Credit, and the Festival of Trees.

Her evolving body of work now includes art quilts and small framed studies that combine  indigo with intricate hand stitching. Inspired by botanicals and the quiet beauty of the natural world, each piece reflects a deep connection to organic forms and processes.

Education is central to Carrole’s practice. She shares her knowledge through workshops in botanical printing and natural dye techniques, inviting others to explore the richness and rhythm of working with nature.
