Landscape Class in Water Mixable Oils

 

Please join local artist Carolyn M. Boyd for an exciting art class where participants will paint a lovely landscape scene with water mixable oils. This is geared towards beginner students, although there will be something in this class for any art enthusiast to enjoy. 

Participants will learn a variety of useful painting tips and techniques and practice their brushstrokes, before they start working on their painting. By the end of the class, participants will have a beautiful completed painting to take home and enjoy!

All supplies are included.

Carolyn M. Boyd is a Canadian landscape artist brushing with passion and enthusiasm from the magnificent shores of Kempenfelt Bay, Georgian Bay, Muskoka and beyond. She studied fine art at Georgian College and North Light Art School, and has a certificate in the Fundamentals of Fine Art. Carolyn teaches private art classes and group workshops. Her paintings are in collections across Canada and globally. Carolyn is the recipient of the City of Barrie’s 2024 Artist Beyond Barriers Award. She volunteered at the MacLaren Art Centre, and currently volunteers at the Barrie Art Club, Women's Art Association of Canada, and elsewhere.

Carolyn’s paintings have been exhibited in the Orillia Museum of Art & History, Barrie Art Club, Dundas Valley School of Art, MacLaren Art Centre, Barrie City Hall First Floor Gallery, Women’s Art Association of Canada, Women’s Art Association of Hamilton, Hibernation Arts Gallery, Quest Art School + Gallery, Stack Gallery, Muskoka Discovery Centre, Double Door Studio and Gallery, Orillia Opera House and other locations. She’s displayed her paintings in over 250 art shows, events, and galleries. Her artwork is showcased in numerous books, several magazines, a few calendars and a variety of other publications. She’s also contributed artwork to a documentary film and play.

She’s a member of the Barrie Art Club, MacLaren Art Centre, Artists in Canada, Quest Art School & Gallery, Women's Art Association of Canada, Women's Art Association of Hamilton, Art Gallery of Ontario, Kawartha Art Gallery, Muskoka Arts & Crafts, Wasaga Society for the Arts, and East Central Ontario Art Association.

Min *6 people to run the class, if a class does not run, a credit will be applied to a future class. Missed classes will not be refunded or applied as a credit. 

If a class is cancelled by the instructor, a credit for the amount of the class or workshop will be applied to your account and can be used for another class registration with The Maker’s Circle, or for product in the gallery. If you are unable to attend a one-time class, due to sickness or an emergency, a minimum of 48 hours notice is needed to receive an account credit. Registrations are transferable on one-time classes. Credits are not offered for missed classes on multi-week classes.
