Playing with Fire

18" x 24" Mixed-Media Abstract on watercolour paper.  This artwork is mounted and includes a black frame.

Playing with Fire is all about colour, energy and movement. Bold oranges and yellows play against deep purples and blacks, creating a feeling of heat, flames and drifting smoke.

This piece also brings together different parts of my creative journey. I've incorporated fabric from my art quilting days, combining it with paint, layers of colour and mark-making. I love how the different materials work together, creating texture, patterns and unexpected details.

Some areas are carefully planned, while others develop more intuitively. That's what I enjoy about working with mixed media — experimenting, discovering new possibilities and sometimes just seeing what happens when I let the materials lead the way.
